Islam Information Scotland is Scotland's only Training and Resource provider on Islam and Muslims.

iiScotland aims to promote a greater awareness of Islam as a way of life and create a better understanding of Muslims as a vibrant community at the heart of Scottish life. iiScotland operates Scotland-wide, providing non-Muslim individuals and organisations across the nation with a central point of contact on Islam.

Training

Our unique training is designed specifically for those who come into contact with Muslims and seek to understand their culture and way of life. iiScotland has developed a number of specialised courses for those involved in the relevant fields and wish to understand the needs of their Muslim clients.

 

Exhibitions

In the pursuit of providing information on Islam through a wide variety of methods, iiScotland has accumulated a vast itinerary of resources; including exhibition equipment and materials, literature and artifacts. Recognising the lack of relevant and appropriate materials iiScotland has designed and produced its own unique poster-sets and materials in-house. This material has been most effectively used by mosques, community groups and student's societies to promote Open Days.

 

Schools Presentations

To allow teachers access to additional support material for Islam during RE, iiScotland delivers classroom presentations on Islam, consisting of project materials, activities and audio visual presentations to enhance learning experience. iiScotland also intends to provide training to parents who wish to deliver workshops and presentations in their child's school.

 

Islam Awareness Week

Islam Awareness Week (IAW) is a national event held annually since 1994. IAW is an opportunity to promote awareness of Islam, its contributions to our world and Muslim lifestyle across Britain, in order to help create a better understanding and remove prejudices that intensify Islamophobia. It is a unique invitation to everybody throughout the country, irrespective of their faith, school of thought or group affiliation.
